Chief Communication Strategist at the President's Office, Ibrahim Hoodh, stated that the administration will not take into account the non-business days in calculating the first 100 days of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's '100-day' pledges.
Maldivians saw President Solih's government turn one month, on Monday, since the President's inauguration on November 17. Although, due to the administration solely accounting for the period of days in which it stays open, President Solih's executive and ruling coalition will officially see a single month pass to the Presidency, on December 31.
Out of the 49 pledges to be completed during the period of 30 days, only 10 have been accomplished. Ministries have been tasked to carry out the remaining pledges relevant to their authority.
- Teaching Quran across mosques
- Working towards reinstating those who have unjustly lost their jobs and transfer of positions
- Start widening the Fuvahmulah City School road
- Goods and Service Tax (GST) exemption on women's sanitary products
- Import duty on diesel abolished for fishing vessels to reduce the cost of fishing
- Import duty on agricultural products abolished
- Tree planting initiative
- Clean Maldives program
- Establishment of additional bus-stops to the Male’- Hulhumale’ public bus transportation route
- Free motorcycle parking for airport staff
- Expediting the cases filed at UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances and the UN Human Rights Council
- Propose to rejoin the Commonwealth
- Reducing fees for taxi licenses.
President Solih, following his oath-taking, declared 161 pledges, encompassing a total of 23 sectors, for his initial 100 days as President.
