President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Tuesday, departed to the islands of Gaafu Alif and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls on a three-day official visit. Upon arrival, the president was warmly welcomed by the residents of Madaveli island. During this visit, President Yameen is scheduled to take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of beach protection projects and inaugurate the new harbours in the islands of Madaveli, Faresmaathodaa, and Gaddhoo. Moreover, President Yameen will initiate the services of the new sewerage system and inaugurate the housing project of Gaddhoo Island. President Yameen is scheduled to visit North Huvadhu Atoll islands tomorrow, where he will inaugurate the harbour in Kondey, initiate the services of the sewerage system and inaugurate clean drinking water services in Kolamaafushi, and mark the completion of the road development project and inaugurate the housing project in Villingili. The president will also inaugurate the Fishermen’s Marina in Kooddoo.
