Two robberies in the capital in one day

The police arrested a man from the capital Male in connection to a robbery that took place Saturday.

According to the police, two shops in Male were broken in to and robbed.

A 28-year-old man was taken in to custody after he was caught in the act of robbing the 3H Mart on Haveeree Hingun. He was caught by a civilian who had reported the incident to the police.

The police said that it was informed of the incident at around 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

A shop called Ravaabee on Majeedhee Magu was also robbed on hours after the initial robbery on Saturday.

The culprits had broken the glass window of the shop and took cash and other materials from there, the police reported.

No arrests have been made in connection to this robbery yet.

The police said that it was notified of the latter robbery at around 6:23 p.m.

A police spokesperson said that there appears to be no connection in the two robberies
