Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) announces it welcomed the newest addition to its fleet last Friday, August 12.

The largest seaplane operator in the world acquired a new De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otters. This addition marks the 59th aircraft to join the fleet, which landed ahead of the tourism peak season in the Maldives.

TMA is currently expanding its already mammoth fleet to keep up with growing demands for seaplane services. The demand soared owing to the rising number of tourist arrivals added with new resort openings.

The company has already bough three aircraft to its fleet since Maldives re-opened its borders post the Covid-19 pandemic.
