Maldives Immigration has announced on extending their working hours until 21:30hrs for weekdays over mounting passport applications.
According to the authority, outbound travel has hiked to unexpected levels following the post-pandemic travel easements internationally.
The immigration and border control authority on average handled 200 passport applications on a daily basis, which has however surged to an average of 800 applications per day.
Due to the increment in the demand for passport applications the authority extended their working hours to facilitate public requests.
Meanwhile, Immigration has extended its passport issuing hours until 15:00hrs of on weekdays.
