COVID-19: Death toll reaches 206

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Sunday that the COVID-19 fatalities has reached 206.

Four more patients admitted in Hulhumale' Medical Facility (HMF) passed away on since Friday morning.

To control the rapid spread of COVID-19, Greater Male' Area was put under lockdown on May 26. Even though the daily COVID positives have been decreasing, Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has decided to extend the lockdown for another two weeks on June 15.

Active surveillance and contact tracing efforts have been improved however.

So far 71,896 confirmed cases have been recorded in Maldives. Currently the active cases are below 6,000.
