Local hospitality brand Kaimoo Hotels and Resorts, on Thursday, announced a new ‘Staycation’ offer from three of their properties; Summer Island Maldives, Embudu Village and Equator Village.
The special rates are valid from present-day through till April 30, 2021.

Summer Island Maldives lies 45 minutes by speedboat from capital city Male’ and is offering full board package including three meals and afternoon tea, return transfers, for two persons in either a Superior Vista, Superior Bungalow, or Superior Beach villa for MVR 4,009 per night.
Children under the age of five are provided complimentary stay and children aged between 5-15 years may join for an additional MVR 1002 each night.
Further discounts are available for guests that elect to stay for longer than three nights. This family-friendly resort hosts a variety of water-sports activities and excursions, in addition to a full-service spa and a popular infinity swimming pool that overlooks a vast lagoon.
Embudu Village is also located in Kaafu atoll, 20 minutes from Male’ by speedboat.
The resort offers a stay in a Superior Bungalow on full board basis from MVR 3,007 per night, or a Water bungalow on Full board at MVR 3,778 per night. Children under 5 may stay for free, whereas those aged 5-15 incur an additional charge of MVR 617 for each night.
The rates also include evening tea as well as transfers to Male’.
Embudu Village lies in close proximity to some of the country’s most famous diving sites and the island’s house reef is also frequently enjoyed by snorkelling enthusiasts.
Equator Village is located in Addu, Gan which is about one and a half hours by plane from Velana International Airport.
The lush green resort is welcoming locals and expatriates at a rate of MVR 2,251 per night for two persons, on full board basis, including afternoon tea, transfers to the airport.
A range of indoor and outdoor activities are also available on a complimentary basis.
Children under 5 may stay for free but parents are required to pay a surcharge of MVR 463 per night for children between the ages of 5-15.
In addition to the opportunity to have an authentic experience of the southern side of Maldives, the premises also features a private beach area and a large swimming pool, as well as a children’s pool, that lies overlooking the sea.
Equator Village was recently awarded ‘Leading Heritage Hotel and Resort’ at the South Asian Travel Awards last year, the region’s most prestigious travel and hospitality awards ceremony.
All three resorts also recently received Gold Certificates for their health, safety and hygiene measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The international certification, given by Hotel Resilient, was issued to the resorts in December. Hotel Resilient is an international scientific benchmarking and certification body for resorts and hotels.
The certification process assesses each property’s policies to counter the spread of the coronavirus. Protocols to protect guests and staff, cleaning procedures, hygiene measures, physical distancing measures, and plans for treating an infected person, are reviewed and given an assessment score.
The Gold Certificate is the highest certificate issued by Hotel Resilient. It is indicative of a resort’s exemplary policies and protocols to keep guests and staff safe.
