Etihad Airways, the flagship carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has decided to expand its operations to the Maldives by adding four more weekly flights.
In a statement released last Friday, the airline declared that the decision to increase operations from UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi to the archipelago was due to increasing demand during summer every year.
According to Etihad, the additional weekly flights are scheduled to begin in July and will last until September 17. The new flights are to be operated on an Airbus A320 aircraft boasting 16 business class seats and 120 economy class seats.
Etihad Airways commenced operations to the Maldives five years ago and currently flies daily to the island nation.
