Table Tennis Association Maldives (TTAM) President Ali Rasheed (Ayya) has been elected to the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Council.
Table Tennis Association Maldives (TTAM) President Ali Rasheed (Ayya) has been elected to the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Council.
He was elected to the ATTU council at the congress held Astana, Kazakhstan, from the South Asian region.
There are two members on the council from the South Asian Region. In addition to Rasheed, an Indian representative was elected.
Shankar Gautam from Nepal was elected as the Vice President of ATTU from South Asian Region.
Qatar's Table Tennis Association President, Khalil bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, was officially re-endorsed as President ATTU for the next electoral cycle. In his acceptance speech, Al Mohannadi announced the launch of the Asian Table Tennis Union Academy, in partnership with Qatar's Aspire Academy. The academy will focus on nurturing junior talent and enhancing human resource efficiency within the sport.
The Asian Table Tennis Union Congress had also confirmed the host countries for the upcoming Asian tournaments, with North Korea selected as the host for one of the major Asian tournaments.
