President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's campaign closing rally will be held in Hithadhoo, Addu City, his campaign team has informed.
The Maldives Democratic Party (MDP)'s presidential primary, which will determine who will win the party's ticket for the upcoming presidential election in September, is scheduled to be held this Saturday, 28 January.
The President's campaign team said that the last campaign rally will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Addu City has the largest number of eligible voters in the MDP primary election.
President Solih had been to Addu City as part of his campaign trail from January 13 to 15. At the time, the number of people who came out for campaign activities had been low.
However, his rally in Malé, held last Friday night, drew a massive turnout.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is visiting many islands for his campaign. While he visited Kaafu atoll Guraidhoo and Kaashidhoo and Alifu Alifu atoll Thoddoo yesterday, he is scheduled to visit more islands in Alifu Alifu and Alifu Dhaalu atolls today.
The President is contesting against the Speaker of Parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed in the upcoming election.
