The Ministry of Environment, on Monday, inaugurated the Sustainable Oceans Initiative, a national level workshop at Dhiffushi, Kaafu Atoll.
The workshop, held under the Sustainable Oceans Initiative of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity will be conducted from June 17- 19.
The Environment Ministry is hosting the workshop in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and Global Oceans Biodiversity Initiative (GOBI).
The Sustainable Oceans Initiative is intended to provide a platform for stakeholders of marine life forms to discuss the formulation of a national strategic plan regarding ocean management as well as other prioritized aspects concerning the conservation of coastal and marine areas.
A total of 33 individuals will participate in the 'Sustainable Oceans Initiative.
