Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM), in partnership with Dhiraagu, has launched a toolkit to support children diagnosed with cancer.

This initiative, part of Dhiraagu's ongoing collaboration with CSM to raise cancer awareness, was developed with contributions from the Ministry of Education and UNICEF.

CSM highlighted the importance of early detection, treatment, and the need for a strong support system from schools and parents to help children face the challenges of cancer. The toolkit aims to provide essential resources for this purpose.

In addition to the toolkit, Dhiraagu will create educational content to raise awareness about childhood cancer. This includes an animated song about cancer symptoms, a cancer survivor’s story, and a video series highlighting the importance of early detection.

Dhiraagu said that caring for children is a key pillar of its CSR efforts, with the goal of fostering an environment that promotes children's health and development.

September marks International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. According to CSM, Maldives has one of the highest rates of childhood cancer in Asia, with around 4-5 percent of the population under 18 currently undergoing cancer treatment.
