Ooredoo Maldives has announced that it will be hosting a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fair aimed at promoting STEM education in the country.
The fair is scheduled to be held on March 2–3 and is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Women in Tech Maldives.
The objective of the STEM fair is to create interest and awareness among students about real-world issues and provide them with information on problem-solving.
According to Ooredoo Maldives, the fair will allow students to showcase their talents, productivity, and craftsmanship in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and work on innovative projects alongside industry experts and other professionals.
The Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo, Hussain Niyaz, emphasised the significance of a STEM science fair and providing opportunities to promote STEM education. He said that the fair would encourage students to pursue academics and careers in the field.
"Ooredoo STEM fair will allow students to showcase their talents and encourage them to come up with innovations related to real-world situations. The fair will also help us identify the interest among students in STEM subjects," Niyaz said.
