Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu stated that the delivery of these books were begun approximately ten days ago. Some schools have already received the stocks and are handing over the books to the students.
Male' schools, however, have not received the textbooks as of yet.
A Principal of a Male' area school stated that the Ministry had assured these schools, too, will receive the books without much delay.
As schools closed on last Tuesday at the end of the academic year, students were issued report books and vouchers for stationery.
After a month long break, the new academic year will begin on May 26.
