Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture, on Thursday, moved its website to gov.mv, the official portal of the government.
A ceremony was held at the ministry of Communication, Science and Technology to mark the shift. Fisheries Minister Zaha Waheed and Communications Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal attended the function.
The efforts to transfer the website were initiated jointly by the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) and the Communications Ministry in order to ensure that government information is readily and comprehensively available under one domain.
While the fisheries ministry's website is the first to be moved, another ministry's website will be transferred under gov.mv in the upcoming week.
The initiative to collect all government ministries under one portal is intended to clarify to citizens the particular services available from each ministry.
Gov.mv is designed such that it can be amended to reflect the manner in which citizens utilize it, thereby enhancing user-friendliness.
