State Trading Organisation (STO) has increased the prices of petrol and diesel by 42 laari (MVR 0.42) and 66 laari (MVR 0.62) respectively.
STO attributed the upward shift in prices to increases in global fuel prices.
Changes to petrol-diesel rates, effective from last Thursday:
- Petrol increased from MVR 10.97 to MVR 11.39 per litre.
- Diesel increased from MVR 11.43 to MVR 12.09 per litre.
The price of both petrol and diesel was increased by 20 laari (MVR 0.20) on October 1.
