One of the victims who were involved in a vehicle collision on Laamu atoll Link road has passed away.
A motorbike and a car were involved in the deadly collision that left the now deceased victim severely injured upon impact.
Reports confirmed that the victim in the incident is a 41-year-old motorcyclist.
The accident occurred on Saturday evening, September 9. Both victims were transported to Gan Regional Hospital after the collision.
"From the victims, the motorcyclist passed away around 1:51 a.m. amid treatment," Maldives Police said.
The police have confirmed that the deceased motorcyclist had a valid license, however, the individual driving the car did not possess a valid license.
Authorities have also reported that the injured 28-year-old driver is currently receiving treatment.
The police have said that they are conducting an investigation into the accident.
