Yousuf Siraj, who was previously the Deputy Managing Director of Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), has been appointed as the Managing Director of the company.
The waste management company was last headed by Adalat Party council member, Adam Mohamed.
After Adam was transferred to Maldives Post Limited as Managing Director in March, WAMCO has been overseen by Siraj. The privatization board of WAMCO decided to appoint Siraj as the company's MD on September 1.
Siraj, who previously worked in the education sector, was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of WAMCO in November, 2019. Prior to this, he had been the first president of Haa Alifu atoll council.
Siraj holds a First Degree in Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration.
