Service Charge Rankings in Maldives: Top Resorts, August 2021

During the month of August, 2021 three resorts in the Maldives paid employees more than USD 1,000 as service charge. Among which are properties such as: Nautilus Maldives, The Ritz Carlton Maldives and Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi.

According to the organization, Nautilus Maldives paid USD 1,623 as service charges while The Ritz Carlton Maldives paid its employees USD 1352.10 and Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi paid USD 1,263.95.

All tourist facilities in Maldives are legally mandated to pay a service charge and after changes were brought to the employment laws in the Maldives, 10 percent from services was collected as service charge at resorts. This amount is to be equally divided among employees.
