Issues have arisen on some inhabited islands when the salaries of Education workers were deposited on Sunday.
Some workers had received less than the salary they were due while some had received more. Mihaaru News reported that a trusted source had confirmed that over 200 employees' salaries had faced such issues.
According to an unnamed source, this issue had arisen due to an error made while compiling the salary sheet.
"Some schools under Education Ministry has not been paying their salaries within the system. The error occurred while attempting to regulate it, as the account numbers of some employees got mixed up while making the information sheet," the source had said.
Mihaaru News reported that some people that had received different amounts had already used their money.
However, Finance Ministry could not be reached out for a comment.
Last year, some healthcare workers faced a similar problem of receiving other employees' salaries. While Finance Ministry attempted to recover the money, they had said that they had not recovered all of it.
Finance Ministry had said then that they were taking measures to ensure a similar issue would not repeat.
