Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) commemorates their 10th anniversary with special activities throughout the ongoing week.
Incepted to provide humanitarian aid to individuals and communities in need, the Non-Profit Organisation was formed on August 16, 2009. Since then, MRC has grown to become Maldives' main contributor in a vast variety of relief efforts.
Vice Chairperson of MRC Male', Aishath Nasra revealed that Red Crescent would be holding special activities across Maldives on occasion of the 10-year anniversary.
"Special activities would be carried out by Maldivian Red Crescent across Maldives through its different branches", affirmed Nasra.
MRC's volunteers are based in various islands in addition to capital city Male'. These volunteers are at the forefront of relief and aid efforts in cases of natural disasters and other incidents.
MRC volunteers will visit hospitals and meet with patients on Monday
MRC will meet and give gifts to expatriates on Monday evening
MRC will hold a festival on upcoming Friday at Central Park in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale', to commemorate World Humanitarian Day and MRC's anniversary.
