WAMCO has won the National Volleyball Championship 2024 through defeating Police Club in the finals.
WAMCO has won the National Volleyball Championship 2024 through defeating Police Club in the finals.
The match, played at the indoor court at Youth Centre, was won by WAMCO with 1-3 sets.
The first two sets were easily won by WAMCO with 23-25 and 13-25. Police club took the third set with a wide lead with 12-25. However, WAMCO took the last set with 16-25, winning the match.
WAMCO has now won the championship twice through beating Police Club, who were the former champions. WAMCO also won the latest national league.
Three players were crowned best players of the tournament. These are;
- Hawwa Rashidha (Police Club)
- Fathimath Joozaan Zareer (Club WAMCO)
- AIshath Majidha (Club WAMCO)
The most promising Under 19 player is Aishath Nasma Ahmed of Volleyball Youth New Generation.
The best foreign player is WAMCO's Inna Yakovleva from Uzbekistan.
Best coach award was won by WAMCO's Ahmed Adeel (Beybe).
