At an extraordinary congress held at Henveiru Boalhage on Monday night, the audit reports for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 were unanimously approved by the 13 member clubs in attendance, out of 15 clubs eligible to vote.
The audit reports of the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) for the past four years were approved on Monday.
VAM, like many sports associations in the Maldives, has not been regularly audited.
The Sports Commissioner's Office had set various deadlines for VAM to submit its financial reports, but the association was unable to meet those deadlines.
At an extraordinary congress held at Henveiru Boalhage on Monday night, the audit reports for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 were unanimously approved by the 13 member clubs in attendance, out of 15 clubs eligible to vote.
During the meeting, a resolution was also passed to take action against anyone spreading false information about VAM or its executive committee members.
The penalty for such actions includes a two year suspension from participating in any volleyball events in the Maldives. The motion calls for an investigation into individuals using false, impolite, or socially unacceptable language, photos, or accusations against VAM and its members. The resolution was passed unanimously.
The audit reports presented at the congress were endorsed by Aspiration for All Initiatives Sports Club and were approved by all 13 clubs present.
