Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened a new volleyball court in Hulhumale' and commenced a volleyball camp to produce young players for the sport.
The "My Hulhumale' Volleyball Camp 2022" will be held at the new volleyball court near Fiyavathi Orphanage in Hulhumale'. The camp is targeted towards children between the ages of 10 and 16. The camp provides basic and advance volleyball training to children of both genders.
HDC said basic training will be provided for children totally new to volleyball, while the advance course is designed to provide additional training to students who completed basic skills at the camp last year.
A total of 100 children participated in this year's camp. HDC has decided to hold a one-day volleyball competition among the students who takes part in the two-week camp.
HDC said that there are a large number of people who want to play volleyball in Hulhumale'. The volleyball court was officially opened at a ceremony held to inaugurate the camp last Saturday.
The volleyball camp was officially inaugurated by HDC's Chief Operating Officer Shathir Abdul Rahman.
The volleyball camp is held under the supervision of Assistant Coach of the Maldives National Volleyball Team, Mohamed Sajid.
