Maldivian Ambassador to Malaysia Visam Ali has resigned from her post.
The Foreign Ministry confirmed Visam's resignation who was appointed to the post on March 2019. The reason for her resignation is unclear.
Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid also thanked Visam for her work during her tenure.
Following her resignation, the Maldivian High Commission in Malaysia will be temporarily run by the Deputy High Commissioner.
Visam, who previously served as a member of the People's Majlis is the wife of former DRP leader Ahmed Thasmeen Ali.
