Surge in Diarrhea and Vomiting Cases in Male'

Male' city is experiencing a substantial increase in cases of diarrhea and vomiting, as reported by the Health Protection Agency (HPA). Between the second of the previous month and the second of the current month, a total of 3,075 cases have been documented, according to HPA data.

Common symptoms associated with this outbreak include:

- Dizziness

- Reduced urination

- The presence of blood in vomit or diarrhea

- An abnormally dry throat

- Excessive fatigue

- An inability to consume liquids

- Abdominal pain

In response to the ongoing outbreak, the HPA strongly advises individuals to seek medical attention if they experience any of these symptoms.

To safeguard oneself when outdoors, the following precautions are recommended:

- Maintain hydration by consuming salt packets, water, soup, and other liquids.

- Thoroughly wash hands with soap and water after using the toilet and before food preparation.

- Ensure proper sanitation of toilets after use.

- Refrain from attending school for at least one day after symptoms have subsided and opt for rest at home instead of going to work.

The most recent statistics disclosed by the Health Protection Agency reveal a total of 5,386 cases of diarrhea and vomiting reported in January.
