A major violent altercation has occurred in Kaafu atoll Maafushi in the early hours of Saturday morning, leaving one injured.
Police have said that the victim who got injured is a 34 year old Maldivian male. After first receiving medical attention at Maafushi Hospital, he was later transferred to Treetop Hospital in Hulhumale' for further treatment.
Further information regarding the seriousness of injuries received is so far unavailable. Details regarding the reasons for the altercation occurring are also unclear.
Police, however, confirmed that two arrests had been made in connection to the incident, found in the investigation to have been directly involved in the violence.
