Authorities arrested an expatriate for preparing alcohol. The individual was arrested from a Male' City residence.
Maldives Police Service confirms arresting a 34 year old male, from their residence of tenancy. Authorities however, did not disclose the suspect's nationality.
Authorities had inspected the residence situated at Roashanee Magu, Henveiru district, after plumes of smoke were discovered coming from the house. Police inspected the house sometime during Thursday morning, October 13.
Local law enforcement stated after their repeated knocking went unanswered, they had breached the entrance to the house.
Several articles of items used for alcohol preparation were confiscated from the house, police reported.
