Footballer Mohamed Umair expresses a sense of accomplishment, stating that it feels like a significant service to the club by facilitating Victory's promotion back to the first division.

Victory secured a position in the first division for the upcoming season after defeating New Radiant.

Umair, a key player instrumental in Victory's success, started his senior career with the club. Reflecting on his journey, he shared with Mihaaru after the recent victory, "It was Victory that molded me into who I am. When I completed school, I was granted the opportunity to play for the club at the age of 17."

"Now, nearing the end of my career, I sense that I have made a substantial contribution to the club by aiding in its promotion back to the first division."

He shared that when the current club management extended an offer for him to join, he was resolute in accepting it.

"Having been a crucial pillar of support in my career, when the management approached me to play for the team once more, I was determined that this time, I would propel the team back to the first division. I have been able to achieve that, and it's a great day for us in club-level football," stated Umair, who initiated his senior career with Victory in 2006 under the coaching of Mauroof Ahmed (Maatte').

Looking ahead, he expressed, "There's a good chance that you'll see me in action next season."

"If the club desires, we are committed to making that happen," Umair affirmed.

In the previous season's second division tournament, Victory made an attempt to secure a place in the first division. However, despite significant investments, the team fell short, unable to advance beyond the group stage.

This year, the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) introduced a new rule stipulating that both finalists from the second division would be promoted to the first division. Having defeated Tent in the first semi-final, Masodi earned a spot in the final and is set to face Victory. The final match is scheduled for Friday.
