Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the development of the Islamic Center in Addu City, Hithadhoo.
Vice President Faisal Naseem officiated the physical works of the Islamic Center in during a special ceremony held on Wednesday, July 26. The event was also attended by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Zahir.
During the ceremony, the vice president emphasized the current administration's commitment to nurturing a greater love for the Islamic faith among Maldivian youth. He highlighted the government's efforts in organizing Quran competitions, preaching, and religious awareness programs, surpassing the initiatives of previous administrations in this regard.
The construction and development of the Islamic Center has been contracted to FEDO Pvt. Ltd.
The Islamic Center in Hithadhoo, Addu Atoll, will be equipped with various facilities, including a prayer hall with a capacity for 1,500 people, a multipurpose hall capable of accommodating 450 individuals, four classrooms, two seminar rooms, an administrative office, and a library.
The Vice President is visiting Addu City to take part in the ceremonies commemorating the 58th anniversary of Maldives' independence.
