Vice President Faisal Naseem, has praised the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) for bringing about a revolutionary change in the field of electricity services.
During the ceremony commemorating the 26th anniversary of STELCO, VP Faisal emphasized that STELCO has consistently delivered an essential service to the locals.
He also highlighted the notable achievements of STELCO in the field of electricity and utility services over the past years.
"STELCO has been instrumental in bringing state-of-the-art advancements to electricity and sewerage services in a total of 34 islands, including the Greater Male' region," VP Faisal said.
VP Faisal emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and assistance among STELCO employees to ensure the delivery of seamless and uninterrupted services to the public. He highlighted the need for academic knowledge and relevant training for the professional development of the employees and urged them to share their knowledge with one another.
He added that the current administration heavily prioritizes sustainable development in the Maldives, and the service improvement of power stations across the country aligns with this vision.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of STELCO Ahmed Shareef said that the VP continued to observe and monitor STELCO’s progress intimately.
"VP deserves gratitude for his continued dedication and assistance in ensuring that the public receives basic services. His commitment is truly astounding," Shareef said.
While acknowledging the remarkable transformative journey of STELCO, Shareef asserted that no other company comes close to the utility provider in terms of its commitment to serving the public.
Shareef added that the company’s vision has been to serve the public, and added that besides electricity, STELCO has expanded its service portfolio into water and and sewerage services as well.
Water and sanitation are two new areas for us, but our employees here are just as skilled and capable as other utility providers in the same field, which we take great pride in," Shareef said.
At the ceremony, STELCO Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Latheef, who received the STELCO Outstanding Service Award, was conferred with a special award. Additionally, STELCO had acknowledged its long-serving members by conferring them with plaques and awards.
