The awards were presented to recipients by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today during a special ceremony held at Dharubaaruge, Male' City to commemorate National Day.
A shield of honor, a badge of honor and a certificate was awarded to recipients of the National Award of Honor.
1. The late Mohamed Thaufeeq (Henveyru Haajaraage, Male' City) for his invaluable and timeless contribution to the nation and its people.
2. Abdul Azeez Yusuf (V. Akeelaa) for his contributions to the health industry
3. Mohamed Maajidh (Hulhumale Flat No 7-3-02) in the category of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises
4. Moosa Latheef (Maafannu Husnoo, Male' City) for his contributions to the journalism sector
5. Mohamed Nasir (Maafannu Metrovilla, Male City) in the category of Sports
6. Ahmed Mohamed (V. Reydhuvaa) in the category of Sports
7. Hassan Manik (Roanuge, Vaavu atoll Kandhoo) in the category of Performing Arts
Meanwhile, the company to receive the National Award for Recognition this year in the field of company development and expansion in economic and business sectors is Riyan Private Limited, a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm.
The National Award is bestowed by the President to acknowledge and value the success of individual people, civil institutions, entities, associations and businesses in their integral work towards the development and good of the community and the nation. The awards are divided into two; the National Award of Honor and the National Award of Recognition.
