With this, a total of 9,000 plots were decided to be given to Malé citizens including those from Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu.
Additionally, plots will also be issued from Hulhumalé Phase 3, which is currently under reclamation after a brief pause, in line with a directive issued by Environmental Protection Agency (HPA) due to coral bleaching in the country.
In a recent budget review report by Auditor General's Office (AGO), Housing Development Corporation (HDC) will incur a loss of MVR 10.5 billion due to the free lands being issued from Hulhumalé under the Binveriyaa Scheme.
