Ablution area of female devotees vandalized and damaged by a group of individuals, resulting in necessitating repair work.
Male’ City mayor, Adam Azim, revealed that a group of people caused damage to the ablution areas for women in two mosques.
In a post on X, Adam stated that the toilets in the women’s restroom at ‘Bandara’ mosque and the water taps in the ablution area of the ‘Viyafaariveringe’ mosque were damaged.
According to the mayor, the repair work of the toilets and water taps began last night.
It remains unclear as to why the women’s ablution areas were attacked and the mayor asked for public assistance to prevent such actions in the future.
During the holy month of Ramadan, many women also attend mosques for Tarawih prayers.
