Maldives generated a revenue of MVR 361 million from import-export last month, Maldives Customs Service revealed Thursday.
Official statistics show that last month's revenue is a 10 percent spike from the MVR 329 million earned in December 2018.
The amount of imported goods last month also show an increase of four percent, with goods worth MVR 4.4 billion imported compared to the MVR 4.2 billion in the same period the previous year.
However, exports were at MVR 426 million, which is a 19 percent drop from December 2018.
According to Customs, the highest fraction of imports were from China with goods worth MVR 753 million. Maldives also imported goods worth MVR 654 million from the United Arab Emirates and MVR 445 million from Malaysia.
