A system to detect and collect information on thunder and lightning in real time was installed in the Maldives on Saturday.
The Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, in collaboration with Maldives Meteorological Services (MET) and the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has installed the first lightning detection system in the Maldives.
