Military personnel at both the remaining platforms will also be replaced with civilian experts, as was done in the case of the Addu platform.
While Indian military personnel stationed in Gan, Addu to run operations of the helicopters gifted by Indian government to Maldives have left the country earlier this month, the two countries have agreed that the troops stationed on the remaining two platforms will also be replaced on April 10 and May 10, respectively.
Military personnel at both these platforms will also be replaced with civilian experts, as was done in the case of the Addu platform.
This was announced in a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry following the third meeting of the High Level Core Group consisting of senior officials from both the Maldives and India government.
The High Level Core Group also discussed several other areas of cooperation such as in economic and developmental areas. Also discussed was bilateral cooperation, including expediting the implementation of ongoing developmental projects.
