According to the latest Economic Impact Report from the World Travel & Tourism Council, the travel and tourism sector in the Middle East is predicted to add approximately 3.6 million new jobs over the next decade.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) predicts that the sector will lead the region's economic recovery, with average annual growth projected to surpass the entire economy over the next ten years.

The analysis revealed that the travel and tourism's GDP is expected to expand at a rate of 7.7% a year between 2022 and 2032. This is three times the overall economy's 2.5 percent growth rate, which makes up about 10 percent of the economy.

"After a challenging couple of years, the future is looking better, with travel and tourism anticipated to create 3.6 million new jobs across the Middle East over the next decade," said Julia Simpson, WTTC President and CEO. “Looking to this year and the next, the outlook is more positive with both GDP and employment set to almost reach pre-pandemic levels.”
