Citizens of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain will be permitted to travel to the UK for up to six months for vacation, business, study, or medical treatment starting June 1, 2022. They will be able to travel with an e-visa waiver.

An electronic visa waiver allows the holder to enter the United Kingdom without needing to seek a visa as long as they submit an online waiver for each visit.

"Travelers from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain will now be able to receive their British visa in 48 hours for GBP 30," said Tricia Warwick, VisitBritain's director for Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and North Asia.

"This visa waiver for Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will better connect the people of our countries and increase economic growth," UK Home Secretary Priti Patel said.

"The electronic visa waiver is a fast, digital alternative to the traditional visit visa that ensures all relevant security checks are completed prior to travel." The new visas will increase security while making it easier and less expensive for Gulf visitors to travel here for vacation and business."

Visitors from both countries are amongst the highest spenders in the UK, exceeding three times more than the market average.

HM The Queen's Platinum Jubilee from June 2 to June 6, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games from July 28 to August 8, and the ground-breaking of 'UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK' 2022 all present exciting and timely possibilities that visitors can only enjoy in the UK.
