A MET Office official said that the area would see heavy rain, possible thunderstorms, rough seas and strong winds within this period.
The Official estimates that the rainy weather will clear by Wednesday.
At present, the MET Office has issued a White Alert from Haa Alif Atoll to Thaa Atoll until 18:00 hrs today.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecasted during this period. Strong winds of 19 to 24 miles per hour are expected, with gusts of 45 miles per hour. Seas are expected to be rough.
Statistics released by the MET Office show that the heaviest rain was experienced in Haa Dhaalu Atoll Makunudhoo in the past 24 hours, reaching 34.6 millimeters.
