A fire early on Wednesday morning has completely destroyed a retail outlet and nearby parked vehicles in Malé City.
Authorities have reported that Vega Point, a retail outlet located near Auto Parts Garage in Galolhu ward, was completely destroyed by fire, along with nearly 15 motorbikes parked outside the premises. The fire is said to have erupted at around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Vega Point, a largescale retailer has said that all the goods stored inside the shop's premises have suffered irrecoverable damage.
While there have been no confirmed reports of casualties or injuries, the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), which responded to the scene, said that they received a report of the fire around 4:37 a.m.
