A business pioneer, one of the main directors of Universal Enterprise Mr. Mohamed Maahir has passed away.
Mr. Maahir, who has been at the helm of one of the most successful tourism ventures in the Maldives as a major shareholder, had been seeking treatment at Malaysia at the time of his demise.
A relative of Universal Group's Chairman Mr. Mohamed Umar Manik (MU Manik), Mr. Maahir has been at the forefront of the tourism scene since the industry's inception in the island nation.
Maahir is the elder brother of Ahmed Mahir Didi and Ali Nooraddeen, directors of Universal Group.
He is also a paternal half-brother of former UK High Commissioner Faraha Faisal and former Defense Minister Ameen Faisal.
