Maldives, on Friday, had contested in a total of five matches during the group stage finals, clinching over India 5-1 during their afternoon match.
The remaining three matches of the group stages had commenced in the evening. Maldives had encountered defeat during their match with Austria, who won the championship last year with a score of 3-2. The team also lost to Brazil 6-4, and was also bested by the US in the final match at a score of 5-1.
The knockout stages are set to commence today, with the Maldivian team facing Croatia in the Round of 16. The match is scheduled to begin at 13:00 local time.
Red Bull Four 2 Score is a small-field tournament played 4v4 in ten minutes without a break nor a goalie. Red Bull had hosted several competitions across the world to qualify teams into this tournament.
TFT secured a spot at the World Finals by outperforming 16 local teams that advanced to the final round of the 10 qualifiers held across the island nation. The team is composed of Abdulla Shaffan (Shaaka), Ismail Muneez, Mohamed Wilf, Ahnaf Rasheed (Ahukko), and Ibrahim Najih (Hate).
