MET Office forecasts moderately rough seas, thunderstorms for rest of the week

Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has forecast rainy weather for the rest of the Eid holidays.

They stated that there may be isolated showers across the country on Monday and Tuesday.

From Wednesday onwards until Friday, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are expected in the northern and central atolls, with isolated showers in the southern atolls.

Wind speeds are expected to be southwest to westerly at 8 to 18 miles per hour, gusting to 35 to 40 miles per hour during showers.

Although seas may become rough during showers with wave heights of 3 to 7 feet, it will generally be moderate.

Schools and offices are scheduled to resume on Sunday after a week long holiday on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
