Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that three individuals getting treatment for COVID-19 has passed away on Friday.
This brings the number of total COVID related deaths in Maldives to 82.
Of the fatalities on Friday, two were foreigners. A 60 year old Indian man admitted in DH11 passed away at 0347hrs, while a 37-year-old Bangladeshi man who was isolated in K. Maafushi passed away at 0750hrs.
HPA said the Bangladeshi man tested positive on April 28.

Maldives recorded the highest number of deaths within a 24 hour period was Thursday, with four deaths.
COVID deaths have been increasing, with the recent surge of cases. Maldives saw over 700 COVID positives within a 24 hour period on Wednesday and Thursday, numbers not seen in Maldives previously.
So far, 33,368 people have tested positive for COVID-19, while the number of active cases have risen to near 7,000. HPA has strengthened the restrictive measures within the country to control the rapid spread.
