Ooredoo to bring PSG's football legend Okocha to Maldives

Ooredoo is inviting football legend Jay Jay Okocha to the Maldives to be a part of its upcoming festivities and promotions.

Ooredoo Maldives announced today that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) former star footballer and Nigeria's national team icon Jay Jay Okocha will be coming to the Maldives from 1st to 6th July.

The arrangement is part of Ooredoo's premium partnership with PSG, and during his trip, Okocha is is scheduled to partake in various community activities, including showcasing the beauty of Maldives to his followers from around the world.

Special activities have also been arranged specially for the telecommunication company's customers, said Ooredoo. This includes an opportunity to play futsal with Okocha himself.

Ooredoo is also host to PSG Academy Football Camp specifically for kids in the capital Malé City area. The sessions will be taught by two coaches from the PSG Academy.

Additionally, Ooredoo is also currently running a 'Win a Trip to Laamu with Jay Jay Okocha!' challenge where customers who upgrade their existing Ooredoo Supernet, Faseyha Broadband, 5G AirFibre, prepaid and postpaid plans or those who newly make the switch to Ooredoo will stand a chance to win a trip to the beautiful Laamu atoll.

During Okocha's trip to Laamu atoll, he is also scheduled to participate in the Ooredoo Fun Run to be held in Gan island of Laamu Atoll on 5th July, 2024. Applications are open to participate in the run until 10th June, 2024.

Augustine Azuka "Jay-Jay" Okocha is a former professional footballer from Nigeria who played as an attacking midfielder. During his peak, he won 73 caps for the Nigeria national team between 1993 and 2006, scoring 14 goals. He was also a member of three FIFA World Cup squads and is regarded as one of the greatest football players from Africa.
