Eye Care Hospital has commenced an eye screening and wellbeing camp across atolls in the country.

The camp, first launched in Gaafu Alif atoll, began on September 9. It has since been hosted in Vilingili, Maamendhoo, and Dhaandhoo, all located within Gaafu Alif atoll. The camp is set to be held across several atolls.

The camp is currently ongoing in Gemanafushi. Following its conclusion in Gaafu Alif atoll, the hospital will proceed to Gaafu Dhaalu atoll. The camp is supervised by medical professionals and experienced doctors from Eye Care Hospital.

Launched to screen eye vision and assess overall eye health, the camp will also include cataract check-ups, glaucoma testing, and examinations to identify retinal issues. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to order contact lenses from the hospital during the camp.

The camp was initiated to extend the hospital's services to islanders who are unable to travel to the capital, Malé City to seek the clinics services. Eye Care Hospital said that the camp also aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of participants' eyes.

The hospital further assured that efforts will be made to organize additional such camps across more atoll in the future as well.

These camps which are held across different islands are organized in coordination with health centers and regional hospitals.
