Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, on Monday, paid a courtesy call on Sri Lankan Ranil Wickremesinghe.
During the meeting held at Kurumba Maldives, Minister Shahid expressed confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit will further enhance cooperation with Sri Lanka.
Both parties discussed various matters of mutual interest, including the importance of forging people-to-people contact and the significant role of Sri Lanka in the socio-economic development of Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Foreign Secretary Abdul Gafoor Mohamed, Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Omar Abdul Razzaq and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Fathimath Ghina.
