Tree Top Hospital launches diabetes screening package

Tree Top Hospital introduces a special package to screen for diabetes.

The hospital located in Hulhumale' has introduced a basic and comprehensive screening packages The basic package includes consultation with a physician, dietician together with the following investigations.

- Full blood count

- Fasting blood sugar

- 2 hours’ post-prandial blood sugar

- HbA1c

- Lipid profile

- Liver profile

- Renal profile

- Thyroid stimulating hormone

- ECG

The comprehensive package will include all of the aforementioned services as well as consultation with an Ophthalmologist and Radiology Services including Ultrasounds and Echocardiography.

The packages are designed for people to determine whether they have the condition and if they do have diabetes, to check on the severity of the condition.

The hospital said that such packages were introduced due to rise in number of diabetic patients in the Maldives to diagnose the condition in its early stages and mitigate the severity of the condition.

Tree Top Hospital said that since everyone over the age of 35 should be tested for diabetes, the purpose of introducing such packages is to provide ease for patients coming in for the screening.
