The Ministry of Tourism has abolished the permits of over 100 travel agencies over failure to submit their annual reports.

According to a notice issued by the Tourism Ministry early Monday, the permits of 116 travel agencies have been terminated for not submitting their annual reports under the Maldives' regulations on travel agencies.

The regulation states that the permits may be abolished if the reports are not submitted by the end of January.

It is noteworthy that the government has recently amended the travel agency regulations, easing up on some of its clauses.
